Yesterday I had the opportunity to go to the WE Day celebration held at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. When I got on the bus at 6:00 am I had no idea what was going on. We were given little information about the event and no one on the bus was 100% sure what we were actually going to in Chicago, we only knew that it was called "WE Day"

Now looking back on it, the surprise of the event that we went to was just part of the fun. When we arrived and got settled into our seats to the far left of the huge stage in the arena, we noticed that there were a lot of inspirational projects happening around us. In one part of the outside arena, people were selling bracelets whose profits would go to sending children in underdeveloped countries to school. In another section people were giving out books in genres like 'inspiration', adventure', 'courage', or 'trust'. There were hundreds of kids, maybe even thousands, all with their teachers.

When the actual event began, from the moment it started, to the last word spoken, every student in that arena was praised and thanked for the volunteer work they have done. Never in my life have I felt so motivated to go out into the world and make a change. There were guest speakers including: Julia Gillard, Chris Gardener, Daya, Ally Brooke, Cleo Wade, Jordan Fisher, Jenna Ortega, Skai Jackson, Lonnie Chavis, Jack and Jack, Anthony Gonzalez, Johnny Orlando, Monique Coleman, and many others who spoke to us about how we have the ability to make a change in the world and that we should stand up for what we believe in. they also spoke to us about the service that we can do to help others achieve their dreams.

The event was created for a young demographic because My friends and I had no idea who some of the young speakers were or why they were famous. But the younger kids were hyped about the people on stage. That is good work on their part due to the fact that the focus was on inspiring YOUNG people, and the younger you start Inspiring kids, the better.

It was an incredibly inspirational event that I wish everyone I know could've gone to. It informed me on all the good we as students are putting into the world and encourages me to think more about how I can make an impact on the world.
